David Luiz resigns with Chelsea!

Chelsea have officially resigned David Luiz from PSG for a fee of £38 million, signing a 3-year contract with the club.

The 29-year-old left Chelsea back in June 2014 to join Ligue 1 champions PSG for a then record fee of £50 million (€62 million)

Both clubs have successfully come to terms with the fee of the player. But Chelsea’s alleged first bid of £32 million for the Brazilian was rejected by the French giants, which then came to the interest of PSG to sell him back to Chelsea for £38 million.

Before leaving Chelsea, Luiz won the FA Cup and Champions League in 2012, followed by a Europa League title in 2013.

In comparison, his time at PSG saw him lift all 4 of the French domestic trophies in his first season of French Football.

Luiz was reportedly seen in a helicopter on his way to Cobham training ground, according to Sky Sports.

According to several sources, the move is almost complete with David Luiz awaiting a medical.

The club have posted a small article regarding the transfer and quote:

“Chelsea Football Club and Paris Saint-Germain have agreed terms for the transfer of David Luiz back to London.

The move is now subject to him agreeing personal terms and passing a medical.”

Even the man himself couldn’t help but confirm his move so that it would make the rumours become a reality.

David Luiz makes it official on his Twitter account.

The Blues have surprisingly resigned ‘Sideshow Bob’ but the move makes sense as Antonio Conte looked to reinforce his defensive options.

The ability of David Luiz is fascinating to spectate and Conte must have admired it to bring him back to Stamford Bridge.

Conte will be delighted with the signing of  David Luiz which will likely solve the defensive issues that the team has been having. Also, Conte would have thought about the versatility of Luiz which is very beneficial for Chelsea, let alone any other team.

Salah joins Roma on a permanent basis

Mohammed Salah, 24, has completed a permanent transfer to AS Roma in Italy.

The Egyptian winger spent last season with I Giallorossi and impressed with the Serie A side to help them finish third.

He scored 14 goals in 34 appearancss last season having spent some of the last campaign at Fiorentina.

Salah signed for Chelsea from Switze side Basel back in January 2014.
His most memorable moment was during the 6-0 thrashing of Arsenal, when he encapsulated the performance by running onto and Nemanja Matic pass to then score. Arsene Wenger’s 1000th managerial appearance for the club.

After he spent the latter part of 2014/15 campaign on loan at Fiorentina, he remained in Italy to join Roma on a season long-loan the following season.

N’Golo Kante signs with Chelsea!

It has been confirmed that Leicester City hero N’Golo Kante has joined Chelsea for around £32 million signing a 5-year contract.

The 25-year old was vital in the Foxes’ amazing title win last season and impressed with France at Euro 2016.

He has decided to leave the Champions of England for the Blues describing the opportunity to sign with them as’dream come true’

“I am so happy to have signed for one of the biggest clubs in Europe. It’s a dream come true for me.”

He said it was ‘simply too good’ to turn down the offer as Kante has ‘the opportunity to work with Antonio Conte’ who he labelled ‘a brilliant coach’. He also said the fact that the club has ‘some of the best players in the world’ made it easier to decide his future.

“My first season in English football was very special and now I hope to go on to achieve even more during my time as a Chelsea player.

Kante is certainly ‘looking forward’ to meeting up with his ‘new team-mates’ and to help ‘the club achieve a lot of success.’

He was a prime target of Conte’s list who admitted he was one of signings the club needed to achieve during the summer transfer window.

Now as Kante has chosen a new path. He will need to be more than how he was with Leicester last term. His work rate is important to Chelsea as they will hunt the top spots of the table with much ease.

However, he will need to work double the rate.

I believe Chelsea will prove to be a force once again within the next few weeks. This signing is definitely major and will determine the success of their 2016/17 campaign.

On the other hand, a midfielder with prowness, hard work, organisation and consistency is exactly what Conte has looked for in the market and that player was found.

I’m delighted to see him join Chelsea next season. But without any Champions League football it might annoy many as they probably would’ve wanted Kante to play with Leicester City in the popular European competition.

It raised many eyebrows when Kante was not chosen to start in the Euro 2016 final against Portugal, in which they missed out on winning the European championships. This would’ve definitely made Kante’s season even better.

Nevertheless, Kante will be a key figure in the new system that Conte will dispose and it will probably base around this signing which is significant. He will be keen on bringing success to the Bridge next season.

And England prevail!

This game turned out to be the expected. It was filled with passion, pride, tackling, grit, and moreover from Englands perspective, an important victory.

The game started with a golden opportunity which came in the 7th minute as Sterling skied his chance over the bar. It may have seem no surprise Engthe majority of England fans as Sterling even struggled to score against the complicated Russia despite his opportunities. Shameful. Especially when you hear his hefty £50 million price tag which does not justify his current form. But moving on from that off-topic remark.. England found themselves down 1-0 after Bale in the 41st minute had striked a thunderous effort from 40 yards which caught out Hart who should have never conceeded such an embarassing goal, surely Hart should’ve saved that with ease. Unfortunately, he had exposed too much space to the left side of the goal so it rather tempted Bale to go for a direct attempt at goal. I had a strange feeling about Harts position on the line before the free-kick, i feared Bale would score after spectating his sublime free-kick against Slovakia, and indeed it happened. Again.

The situation at half-time was important for England to make an impact. This was in the hands of the England manager Roy Hodgson, as much as the changes he made (Vardy and Sturridge) which later proved to make a huge difference. Sterling and Kane were both ineffective. Especially Sterling. The difference with Sterling and Kane is that Sterling is out of form but Kane seems very tired from a busy season as he was involved in 58 games with Spurs in all competitions last season.

Englands super-subs started the comeback in the second half. Vardy in the 56th was lurking around in the box and slightly scuffed the shot but scored. It was at this moment that everyone in the world could see that Vardy literally has a touch of gold. Furthermore, it wasthen he team had a lot of momentum and channeled it into pressure for the Welsh. After, the team kept pressing and pressing until the final breakthrough came in the 91st minute of stoppage time. Sturridge patiently waiting outside of the box to play a quick one-two with Vardy and the skillful feet of Dele Alli to assure Sturridge the ball, with his right foot, he scores. Hennessey could not react quick enough and he faltered.

The English crowd erupted. Sturridge, of course, doing his dance celebration just seconds before his teammates came piling into a bundle. The passion and pride of England was beautifully demonstrated by the players reactions and the fans topped it off.

England go again this Monday at 8pm against Slovakia. A must win game for the Three Lions to assure they’re through to the last 16.

Should John Terry be given a coaching tole?

John Terry has probably been experiencing the most dismal season of his Chelsea career, the 35-year old has not won any silverware this season, unlike the success of the cup double of the capital one and premier league from the previous campaign. This may most likely be his last season with Chelsea due to speculation of a move away from the Bridge. He has currently been given a 1-year contract extension, but under a ‘different role’ as the man confirmed it himself on Instagram and Facebook.
It’s hit many chelsea fans how the club has seem to have lost faith in the skipper. Apart from having a tough season, he’s still a reliable asset, if he stays with Chelsea. He should only be playing a little bit less or he should become an assistant. This will give more gametime for the younger prospects such as Kurt Zouma whilst being a mentor for the players. His 21-year association with the club has had such a strong impact on Chelsea, and it will never be stronger than when they need him most next season.

So should John Terry be offered a coaching role? Yes, it’s pretty simple when you at his experience of football. I believe ‘700’ appearances says it all and you can take a lot of positives out of the signifiance of that  value. This adds on to his mentoring ability and Terry would not seem to be an issue in that role, respectively.
As we have seen before. JT has always kept  up with the youngsters in the youth academy and prolonging the skippers influence would prove vital. So i strongly believe giving him a coaching job involved with the first-team can guarantee some great hope for the club to move forward, and to forget the loose ends of the 2015/16 season. Which Chelsea player would want to remember this season?! Oh maybe Willian…

John Terry as an assistant for Antonio Conte would work seemingly as he can give him a better understanding of the premier league, how it works and possibly some tactics that he and Conte could inject into the teams mentality. It will be a challenge for new boss Antonio Conte, fresh from another league who’s going into a managerial spell as a PL manager.
In relation to Ryan Giggs, his role as an assistant manager of Louis Van Gaal has most likely kept Van Gaal in check from going absolutely insane!

Hopefully Conte will not introduce a silly ‘philosophy’ that no one will understand… Surely the boss will be busy in summer transfer window looking big and transforming Chelsea into the greatness they achieved in the previous campaign.
